interpretive hikes
Two self guided interpretive hikes are available.
Both start at the Sugar Shack, located at the far end of the lake parking area.
Sugar Bush Hike
Hike to the North Beach area and visit the Sugar Bush.
​Children's Storybook Hike
Follow the storybook path along the lake and cross the bridge to the North Beach. Stop at each interpretive sign and read the book to learn another step in the process of making maple syrup.
Cunningham Falls
Maryland's Highest Waterfall
Hike to Cunningham Falls on the 1/2 mile long red blazed Lower Trail. Follow the yellow blazed Cliff Trail back for a 1 1/8 mile loop.
